Who is Icarus? Icarus is the son of the inventor Daedalus and a slave Naucrate. His father created wings made of wax and fave them to Icarus. He warned Icarus not to fly too close to the sun or the wax would melt. Icarus flew too close to the sun and fell in to the water and drowned. He fell through the sky and past his father Daedalus then drowned near the island called Samos. Daedalus buried his son on another island which became known as Icaria or land of Icarius. Why can't humans fly? Most people would answer this question with "because humans don't have wings" which is technically true but it needs to be explained in much more depth. Some people would say that it is because of evalusion.Evalusion took millions of years before the first creatures had wings and became better at flying. Evalusion didn't give us the ability to fly but it did give us more intellegence which should help to compensate for humans not being able to fly. Athough we erigaly evolved from the same soure, all life forms have avolved to speshilise in differant things. As apes are our ansesters, witch in turn were desendants to rodants such as mice and rats,so we have evolved to walk on land. Birds on the outher hand were erigonaly desended from dinisoirs and there for share some of there featchers like flight. In my opintion it is highly unlikely for us to evolve to a point whare we have the right musels, hollow bones and sutibal limes to alow us to fly.(Megan Ricketts.)

bird wings are covered in feathers to help catch wind and lift them while we have arms are round and heavy. Birds also have a special muscle that helps the flap their wings fast enough to keep them in the air but the we don't have that muscle so we can't wave our arms fast enough to get any elavation. We can't take in as much oxegen as birds because they have special lungs that take in more oxegen which helps them to keep the muscle working. We are also much heavier and much harder to lift as Birds are light weight and streamlined. So the closet to flying we can get is taking a trip on an areoplane or space shuttle.

The reason we can't fly is because we are a lot heavier than birds who can fly . We have a different type of bones to them that's why they can stand on an electrical wire without getting electrocuted . We also can fly because we don't have feathers the feathers on birds catch the wind and they go in the way the bird is flying . On humans we have no feathers so humans don't have anything to fly with . Birds also have wings which catch the wind when they r taking of just like planes to. Humans can't fly because they have no wings all we have is arms but they r to heavy to fly with .
